Indications: |
The ICX-CrCo build-up (C-008-020001) is intended for casting onto CoCr alloys. |
| Material: |
The CoCr abutments are manufactured from a cobalt-chromium alloy in accordance with ISO 5832-12. CTE: 14.1 × 10⁻⁶ (20–500°C). The burn-out plastic sleeve is made of polyoxymethylene (POM). |
| Usage: |
The ICX-CrCo framework consists of a base made of an alloy suitable for casting and a plastic sleeve that burns out completely without leaving any residue. The plastic sleeve may be shortened, and the model is fabricated according to standard dental laboratory procedures. Care must be taken to ensure that a wall thickness of at least 0.4 mm is achieved. Areas of the connection geometry must be protected from contamination. Only phosphate-bonded investment materials intended for non-ferrous metal casting may be used for investment. Care must be taken to prevent bubble formation. Follow the investment material manufacturer’s instructions for use. Particular attention must be paid to the preheating temperature and duration. During casting, the liquidus temperature of the CoCr alloy to be cast must not exceed 1420°C to prevent melting of the CoCr base. The instructions provided by the casting equipment manufacturer should be followed. After disinvestment and ceramic firing, the oxide layer may only be removed using glass beads at a maximum pressure of 2 bar to prevent dimensional changes in the connection geometry to the implant/ICX Multi-Abutment and the screw head seating in the screw channel. Alternatively, the respective areas can also be protected from oxidation using a suitable oxide barrier. Finishing can be performed using the carbide burs provided for this purpose. If the cast ICX-CoCr abutment is veneered, the specific characteristics of the conventional ceramic material (coefficient of thermal expansion) and the fusing alloy must be taken into account. |
